This past Wednesday Willow Dawson came to the school and spoke to the students about her experience as a comic book and graphic novel writer and illustrator. She spoke about her many experiences, both triumphs and challenges. One comment that seemed to surprise students was the number of illustrators who work traditionally, not digitally. Besides being able to enjoy the process of painting, it provides another source of income in the form of an original art work that can be exhibited and sold. Her insights provided some fresh thinking for the students, and an inspirational start to the school year!
